Sian Carr Joins AAF As Trustee
The AAF are delighted to confirm that Sian Carr has formally joined the charity, becoming our sixth trustee.
Sian has close ties to our flagship programme, the Kent Academies Network APP, in her role as Executive Principal at Skinners’ Kent Academy in Tunbridge Wells, as well as being a Governor at Sevenoaks School. This provides Sian with a unique understanding of both the state and independent schools in our network, a combination perfect for the partnership work of the AAF and one that will no doubt prove invaluable in allowing her to fulfil her role.
Sian is President of the Association of School and College Leaders, a member of the International Baccalaureate Governing Council and boasts a wealth of experience across a range of roles. These include time as Operational Director, Stakeholders and Networks at the National College for School Leadership, as Director of the Eastern Leadership Centre in Cambridge and an earlier teaching career spent in four London Schools before spending seven years as Head of the Sandon School in Chelmsford, Essex.
Passionate about making a difference to the lives of young people, Sian believes that strong, positive and focused leadership at all levels in a school is essential to its success and improvement. Clearly this chimes perfectly with our mission statement to drive social mobility in UK maintained schools through educational partnerships, enabling students from all backgrounds to maximise their potential, and we look forward to the hugely positive impact Sian will have on our work in pursuit of these aims.
