Original Cohort – Over and Out!
Three of our trustees, including both our founders, were at Sevenoaks this afternoon to mark the end of an era - the final day of the final residential for our year 13 (and original) cohort!
After four years on the programme our year 13 cohort have each received several University offers across a wide range of different subject areas, and have now successfully completed their final residential with us.
The final task to be completed was a presentation to their peers on a topic they had focused their revision on over the weekend, and the range of subject areas was astounding – everything from the sociology of educational achievement, conformity and the media, to token economies and schizophrenia, the development gap in Mesoamerica and the viability of nuclear fusion!
The final session was a reflection on the last four years on the programme, and what a four years it has been! With over 40 speakers including the very first talk from Hilary Carty, as well as names such as Adam Boulton, Amber Rudd and Sir Damon Buffini, 8 residential courses in 4 different locations and 8 day meet-ups, we hope it has been an invaluable experience and one our students will never forget – we will certainly never forget them as our very first cohort!
The year 11 and year 13 Easter residential programmes are a little truncated in order to allow our students to return to school and focus on their impending exams, and we wish our year 13 every success in their A-Levels this summer.
The four year APP journey may be over but we look forward to watching from afar to see how our trailblazers progress after they leave school, and we look forward to celebrating their success at the KAN APP graduation event in July.
