The AAF APP in Kent summer residentials kick off today, with two cohorts at Tonbridge School, and one each at Queens’ College and Fitzwilliam College in Cambridge. This marks the first occasion on which four cohorts are taking part in the programme, and is a momentous step in terms of the pilot launched in 2013.

The 2015 (coming to the end of their year 10) and 2016 (coming to the end of their year 9) cohorts will spend the week at Tonbridge School, with a programme of lessons designed to expand academic horizons, and introduce the students to a range of subjects they may not have studied elsewhere. There is an exciting range of guest speakers, and both cohorts will visit both the V & A Museum, and the Imperial College Outreach Lab.

In Cambridge, the academic programme for year 11 and year 12 will be provided by the Brilliant Club, with students having had the opportunity to opt in to one of three courses on offer, depending on their particular interests and preferences. In addition, an exciting schedule has been put together to showcase the breadth and depth of what Cambridge as a city and a University has to offer.
